The Millbrook Playhouse theater education program offers students a chance to explore their artistic abilities in all areas of the performing arts through workshops which include: Acting and Improvisation, Musical Theatre, and Creative Storytelling in a safe and fun environment. Our program also grants the opportunity, for those who would wish to remain off the stage, a taste in technical theatre artistry such as: Lighting Design, Costume Design, Carpentry, and Sound Design. We offer programs spanning pre-k to 12th grade, so whatever skill level your theatre artist is at, we have the program just for you. The Jr’s Theatre Camp: Ages: 5th Grade – 9th Grade
This camp incorporates basic acting skills including projection, diction, theater vocabulary, and performance techniques. The Jr.’s camp is perfect for all levels, whether they have previous experience or not.
Jr’s Camp will culminate in a performance of Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS. Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score,Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionaires wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.
PERFECT FOR: Beginner to Intermediate theater students looking to apply their skills in a rehearsal process, campers looking for a longer day, students with prior theater experience.

Aimee Hunsinger, a Clinton County native, is our helpful hand for all the camps this summer. Currently attends Indiana University of Pennsylvania where one of her majors is Theatre. Mo Ortbal joins us as our musical director for both the Juniors and the Teen Performing Arts Academy. She holds a Bachelors of Music Education from Penn State University. Michaela Barczak will be our director for the Junior camp’s production of The Aristocats Kids. She recently directed Fancy Nancy the Musical for Millbrook Playhouse. Marc De La Concha returns to Millbrook to direct the Teen Performing Arts Academy production of Camp Rock the Musical.
The Teen Performing Arts Academy (TPAA)
TPAA was designed to enrich, inspire and enlighten young performers. Perfect for those who have a burning passion for the performing arts. The Teen Performing Arts Academy will offer a wide range of classes led by theatre professionals in conjunction with a fully staged production of the musical Xanadu Jr. Students will explore their talents as actors, singers, and dancers, while fusing together rock/pop music and acting techniques to simulate a professional experience.
- AGES: 10th Grade – 12th Grade *must be at least 13 yrs old.
- WHEN: Monday, July 30 – Friday, August 3 (week one). Monday, August 6 – Saturday, August 10 (week two)
- TIME: 9:00am – 3:00pm (no classes on 8/4 or 8/5)
